HR Policies state the intent of the business pertaining to different aspects of Human Resource management such as recruitment, promotion, compensation, training etc.  HR Policies serve as a reference point in implementing HR practices.

HR Procedures inform Employees HOW TO carry out these policies.

HR Policies create structure, fair workplace rules for employees and ensure that management apply consistency in the application of rules and use such as the basis for any disciplinary processes in the event that Employees fail to comply with the business  HR Policies.
